Dr.McClean's theory that it is less painful looking at an injections than not, because of the analgesic effect of the look. Apparently looking comes from that part of the brain which soothes pain as well. May work for some people. Me I prefer not to look when I'm having my 3 monthly B!2 injection. I can't test Dr.McClean's theory. For my injection is in my top back shoulder the site of which I can't see anyway. If 'seeing' with my mind helps this I try to do.
