Freezing.

Second paart of 'baby it's cold outside.
The Northern Jet stream is very slow now. The tail is very slow and meandering like a very slow river meanders sometimes over the U.K. The Jet stream 'tail' sometimes 'waggles over the U.K. The reason we are now having longer periods of 'weather incidents.

Baby Its Snowing Outside.

This is my understanding of how our climate works now.
We are actually in the middle of a mini-ice age. This range of weather incidents will not continue permantly. Our UK. weather is affected by the Northern Polar Jet stream; of course it can be cold. There is also the Solar 12 year old cycle which is late this year. You can see the s
Solar Cycle; some aspects of which are the lack of sun-spot this year. The jet stream because it is at the end of it's cycle is very slow and meandering. The tail waggles a bit over the U.K.
Looking at our climate needs a heeds a historical viewpoint.
In medieval times delicious wine was home grown. In the eighteenth century the River Thames was frozen. They held a 'barbecue' there.

Mouse In House.

To my shame I missed listening to yesterdays Norwich match. I enjoyed the result though.
Every time I look at the house there is another job to do.

Weather Will Last.

I spent most of today indoors. On getting up, I found my pvc frozen shut, not quite solidly. The front door needed a warm towel. placed in the warm airing-cupboard, to helf unfreeze the door.
I spent some tine clearing the snow on my back patio. I wasn't really expecting visitors on Saturday. They didn't come.

Even Walls Have Ears.

My TV was sorted out by a Virgin Media engineer. I had gone into settings, and unticked off, one of those fiddley little buttons which don't seem to lime up with anything. So free View wasn't connected with Virgin Media any more. I didn't quite admit to this mistake. My Roberts radio is beautiful. Sounds much better than the previous one. I got a lecture abou sound dynamics. Which since I have owned a pair of Quad Electrostatic speakers should know all about anyway. My Quad CD(p)player sounnds much better when a bit of the CD's decorative front unexpectedly fell off, in front of me.
Nothing lost and purity of sound gained. Something that seemed stuck up inside with Velcro.

A Tight Squeeze.

You miAght think I am a bit of a recluse. But tomorrow, I have a friend from work coming in the morning. The Chiropodist comes about 2P.M. Then there is the Virgin Media engineer. In the afternoon another friend is calling for a mug of tea. There are also two guys from Snellings.

Miss Match.

To add to my bother this evening my computer called my old cartridge a mismatch. You should have heard the rumpus the printer paper made, trying to get in the computer and out of the computer at both one and the same time. To cut a long story short I had a new manufacturer's cartridge in stock at home. After the old one was out. I put in the new manufacturer's cartridge. The new cartridge is working fine.
Virgin Media is still down.

TV Harmony?

Does anybody think Christmas only starts next week? Being a non-believer, I think Xmas has started already. Does my attitude really matter?
Since yesterday I have been trying to solve a minor Virgin Media fault. Now the whole area NR4, has gone into a major melt down. Virgin Media has a temporary fault; closing NR4's Virgin Media s service.
We are dreadfully near the U.E.A. so I wont mention 'Student Militancy' here.

Aren't Computers Simple?

Here I am sitting on my computer seat, thinking I have a very easy life to you at home at Christmas. Everything I order is brought to my home by the post. I don't have to step outside at all. Nor go out to Norwich and fight in the hustle and bustle of the Christmas rush for present. Then I lock myself out from my computer with 'Child Protection' somehow. I am 72. This takes an hour and a half to put right, with a lady from abroad who is very patient with me to get the whole thing working again. I forget what the 'voice tet' is all about. But you can get rid of the text writing, by pressing 'O.K. and blue button together. Then another message comes up and you simply have to press O.K. again.
Phew!

That's Life.

Norwich lost 0-2 to Portsmouth. But the second half was more exciting than the first. Since slept during the first half. In my defence I'd had a very busy morning vacuuming my lounge and using the Hoover upstairs. I have not been very well this week. Some of you may say 'it's swine flu. The winter flu injections contained both 'bird's flu, and swine flu'. Certainly some of my symptoms were definitely swine fluish. but I won't go into them here.
Now to watch 'Strictly come dancing'

Burnt Up History.

I just thought about the media they were told to keep the reports of the student riots at low key and they did. My own observations were half the world knew about the riots and half didn't because they hadn't watched them on TV. The riots were the most were the most significant political historical event in the U.K. to take place in this 21st Century yet. R4, and 5L almost ignored them.

Students Rampage?

Everybody who looked at the News 24 pictures showing the 'student riot, attack. The Treasury windows were smashed out. The Treasury door was nearly smashed open. Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall had a narrow escape. The driver went to the back of the car to open the boot, then vanished. Was he S.A.S?
The attack on the Royal car must have been planned. I feel there were more than militant students at work here because of the precision involved. .

Living Political History.

I am watching the House of Commons just about to take the Student vote. Outside the riot in Parliament Square. Others may not think this vote and the action of the Students 'insignificant. I think these events will go down in History as one of the most momentous political event in the 21st century.

Upstairs to Meditate.

My best save Gas tip ever. Look for radiators where coats excreta.. are over-hanging radiators; usually hooks. Remove over-hanging clothes. Leave only hats on pegs. You'll be amazed at the extra warmth being radiated out from the radiator.

Fiddlesticks.

I am not surprised students want to chase the 'Student' bill out. Some students believe in their vision of their own education, as being free of debt'. Why should a teacher with just a degree pass, not teach better than a teacher with a higher degree?. Teaching was not for me although I had passed with a 'lower second. I couldn't have taught students with a fiddling stick.

A Fuss Made.

The correct number for Norwich City waste bin collection is-0344-980-3333.
My wheelie bins weren't emptied last Thursday, everybody else here had theirs emptied. When I at last spoke to a very helpful person she said. " As you have Assisted Wheelie bin collection' we'll try and get somebody round. But with the collections late, and so many operatives injured on the very dangerous ice' this might not be possible". She agreed changing the pick-up and return position, should be the back door.

Here Till January.

The icey weather is going to last well into next January. said the confident B.B.C news reader. I think even 'My Smiling Snowman' is getting bored. I'm not loads to do. I hope Tesco find a way to deliver my groceries tomorrow? Perhaps by sledge?
God bless the people who have to get out and about in this iceyness.
The temperature is only-1.6 degrees at the moment. Come on we don't really don't want Russia's here too.

Wrong Snow.

Sometimes Cameron makes me boil. This time the problem that made me boil was Cameron's faux pas. The snow doesn't happen on a regular basis in this country, so we can't plan for a 'total wipe-out like we are having in most of the U.K. you remember the Euro train and snow awkwardly stopping the train 's engines in the tunnel? Cameron and his committee should have contingency plans ready. Even some council's have plans like Norfolk County Council have an on-griti and salt t contract with a European country. One county Council has updated their gritting lorries. A pity Norfolk County Council can't update the Wheelie bin emptying lorries. Ours have not been emptied today.
Tesco are even using sledges to deliver home shop groceries.
Wake up Cameron.
Paul.

No Football Tears Now.

The cost of the U.K. trying to get the vote for Britain getting the 2018 FIFA world cup here must be astronomical,; flying Beckham, and the P.M. everywhere. I hope this unwarranted cost, in my opinion, is published on the net as 'government expense' somewhere loud and clear. Not surprising Russia with all her money got the vote. But the fact that Russia has never had the World Cup before must have been supportive of Russia winning the 2018 now. All I hope is we have a good enough team for winning the World Cup in 2018.

What A Waste Of Money.

2018 is the next FIFA world cup, the vote is tomorrow afternoon.
The whole world cup affair is a waste of money. Especially as in 2018 I shall be 80. and might not be interested at all in the football.
